SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” It is the process
of getting traffic from the “free,” “organic,” “editorial” or “natural” search
results on search engines.
All major search
engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo have primary search
results, where web pages and other content such as videos or local listings are
shown and ranked based on what the search engine considers most relevant to
users. Payment isn’t involved, as it is with paid search ads.
Types of SEO Services :
1. Not Really SEO – Don’t be fooled by web hosting companies who
say their sites are optimized, but only mean that their site is able to be read
by search engines with some automatic meta tags. If a web company isn’t
doing something specific to help your site, then it isn’t SEO.
2. Barely SEO – If all you are getting from your SEO service is some customize
meta tags, then this is classified as “barely SEO”. You might get a
little bump with the tags, but there is so much more they could be doing to
optimize your site.
3. Decent SEO – If the SEO service is doing title and meta tags and looking at
the content on your site, this qualifies as decent SEO. If they are also
doing keyword research, that is another great step. Keyword research can
get overlooked by some companies, but it is very important.
4. Great SEO – For great SEO service, you want to get title and meta tags,
content on your site and keyword research. You also get link building,
content creation, video posts and social shares. All of this helps build
your authority with search engines, which over time will help improve your
rankings.
